WebSphere Engineer - Contract - $
Sydney

Australia's leading IT service provider is seeking an experienced WebSphere Engineer to join their team for a 3 month rolling contract based in North Ryde.

JOB PURPOSE :
WebSphere Engineer required for implementations and migration projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
# Install new versions of operating system and other system software, as appropriate.
# Install appropriate patches and upgrades to operating system and other Software following established protocols .
# Monitor system security, according to the appropriate standards.
# Assist in the development and testing of contingency procedures to ensure business continuity for clients Systems.
# Ensure system procedures are current, maintained and adhered to with system operations effectively managing processing activities.
# Customer Satisfaction.
# Investigate, escalate, liaise with client and resolve problems in a timely manner.
# Use appropriate standards to ensure a quality service to the clients.
# Adhere to appropriate change control protocols. co-ordinate and resource change management requests.Capacity Planning.
# Assist in the Capacity planning function as directed.
# Liaise with clients in relation to their future system requirements.
# Consulting Services.
# Provide Technical advice to management and clients.
# Maintain awareness of new technologies that may apply to the service being provided.General Administration.
# Carry out on call duties and shift coverage and weekend work as required.# Monitor operational tasks are carried out as per schedules.# Provide information for End of Month and Weekly reporting.# Liaison with external parties including customer representatives, hardware and software engineers, third party suppliers and other external representatives.

EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role you must have the following key attributes :
Technical Requirements:
Minimum 3 years (prefer 5+) supporting Internet/Web infrastructure on Unix (preferably Solaris) environments - including high. availability solutions. J2EE Application Server experience (eg: Web Sphere, Oracle Application Server, Weblogic) Strong preference for: General Web: Apache, SunONE web and Proxy Servers, LDAP. Solaris administration skills. Tibco (incl. BusinessWorks)Web server load balancers and high availability solutions. Solaris 2.6, 8, 9, 10, and also Red Hat Linux 9 and later, including.
